We will be producing a limited number of items using "Classico Buffalo," a leather that was discontinued approximately 10 years ago.
The items to be produced this time are as follows:
- "Cram" L-Shaped Zipper Wallet: 3 pieces
- "Carriage" Bi-Fold Wallet and "Undo" Coin Purse Set: 5 sets (sold as a set only)

Classico Buffalo is a leather material characterized by its unique grain (surface irregularities) made from buffalo hide. Due to the closure of the tannery that produced it, it is no longer possible to acquire this leather.
This time, we have produced these items using a small amount of deadstock leather that Munekawa had stored. All items are limited in quantity and available only while supplies last.
Classico Buffalo is characterized by its moist texture and irregular grain. It is a leather that combines wildness and elegance within its subdued color.
Munekawa's representative, Munekawa, also highly recommends this high-quality leather. If you are interested, please check it out soon!
The order page is scheduled to open on June 15th. We will announce it on this blog later.
What kind of leather is "Classico Buffalo," which has been discontinued?
Classico Buffalo is a shrink leather made with the vegetable tanning method.
Vegetable tanning is a leather tanning method that uses "tannin," a tanning agent derived from plants.
It is a traditional leather manufacturing method, characterized by a natural finish that utilizes the original texture of the leather, and "aging" (changes over time) in color, luster, and shape as it is used.

Classico Buffalo undergoes further processing with heat and chemicals to shrink its surface, creating fine wrinkles. This is called "shrink leather."
The grain is not uniform, and the appearance varies slightly depending on the area. This irregularity gives a powerful, leathery feel, while the subdued color also creates an elegant impression.
When held, it has a moist texture, and like vegetable-tanned leather, it becomes more familiar with use, and you can enjoy the changes in its expression.

As mentioned earlier, Classico Buffalo is unfortunately no longer available because the tannery that produced the leather has gone out of business.
However, its feel and texture are truly superb.
It is a highly recommended leather that Munekawa's representative, Munekawa, fell in love with and stocked. This time, we will produce three items that highlight the material's character, using the small amount of deadstock Classico Buffalo we had stored.
L-shaped Zipper Wallet "Cram"

The L-shaped zipper wallet "Cram" is a mini wallet that compactly holds banknotes, coins, and cards.
Opening the zipper in an L-shape allows you to see the contents at a glance. The U-shaped structure, where banknotes are placed under the coin purse, is designed to prevent banknotes from getting caught in the zipper, making them easy to insert and remove.

The Cram made with Classico Buffalo retains the functional comfort of a mini wallet, while its classic leather appearance creates an attractive contrast. Since each piece of grain is unique, each wallet will have its own individual character, even if they are the same shape.
This is a limited edition of 3 pieces. Although it's a small quantity, please check it out if you're interested.
"Carriage" Bi-Fold Wallet and "Undo" Coin Purse Set

The other item is a set of the slim bi-fold wallet "Carriage" and the slim coin purse "Undo." It's a set of a billfold and a coin purse.
Slim Bi-Fold Wallet "Carriage"
Carriage is a slim bi-fold wallet inspired by a money clip, designed for "casually carrying bills and cards."

While its unusual shape is rarely seen elsewhere, Munekawa has been continuously producing this long-selling item for over 20 years, with variations in its design. It is used by tucking banknotes into the leather flap.
It can hold approximately 20-25 bills and 10-15 cards, offering more storage capacity than it appears. As the leather becomes more familiar with use, it eventually thins down to about 9mm.
Slim Coin Purse "Undo"
Undo is a coin purse conceived to be paired with "Carriage." This is also a popular item that has been produced for over 20 years.

Like Carriage, Undo's leather softens and changes shape with continued use, adapting to the amount of contents. Once the leather softens, it can hold approximately 20-30 coins.
Not only can you carry bills, cards, and coins separately and neatly, but these two leather accessories made from the same material naturally bring a sense of unity to your belongings. This time, we will offer only 5 sets for sale as a set.
※Individual orders are not accepted.
