How to care
Take a small amount of care cream on your fingertips and spread it thinly over the entire surface, not just on the leather but also along the stitching.
Allow the cream to soak into the leather for a short time, then gently polish with a soft cloth to make it blend in.
The recommended maintenance period is once every 1 to 2 months.
It keeps the leather moisturized and prevents it from drying out and cracking.
You can also enjoy the unique aging process of leather, such as an increased gloss and deeper color.
If you bring it to a directly managed store, we will provide you with free oil care. Please ask a staff member.

CARE CREAM
This is Munekawa's original leather care cream, which is made by blending natural beeswax with sunflower wax and oil with excellent moisturizing properties. It is similar to a delicate cream, so it can be used on a wide variety of leather products. It is also easy to spread and does not easily get uneven application. Since this cream contains a lot of moisture, please be sure to read the "Care Instructions" when using it on materials other than the standard leather Buttero, such as cordovan and bridle.
[Care instructions]
This is not a care cream that can be used on all types of leather. Before using, please test it on an inconspicuous area. For special materials such as cordovan and reptile, please use a special care cream available on the market.
- Care for cordovan When you first start using cordovan, if you use cream and polish it, the leather surface may become cloudy and lose its luster. The texture will change as you use it, even if it is oily from your hands, so for a while, just wipe it dry with a soft cloth. If the surface feels dry, spread a thin layer of cream over the entire surface, apply it evenly, and wipe it off. Immediately after applying the cream and wiping it off, the luster may decrease and the surface may become whitish, but the cream will blend in over time. Munekawa's original care cream contains a lot of water, so if you are using it on cordovan, which is sensitive to water, wipe it off immediately after applying it. If you use too much cream or leave it for a while, it may cause blisters. Once blisters appear, they cannot be restored to their original state. If you are unsure, please use a care cream for cordovan that is available on the market.
- Care for bridle leather When you first start using bridle leather, dry wiping with a soft cloth is sufficient. As you use it, the oils from your hands and other parts of your hands will get on the leather and the texture will change. When dry wiping, the bloom (a white powder-like substance formed when wax applied to the leather hardens on the surface) will disappear depending on how often and how hard you wipe, so if you want to enjoy the bloom for a long time, adjust the frequency and strength of wiping. (The appearance of bloom also varies depending on the temperature.) Once the bloom has been removed, it cannot be restored. When the bloom becomes thinner and the surface feels dry, spread a thin layer of cream over the entire surface, apply it evenly, and wipe off. The recommended maintenance period is about once every 2 to 3 months, but please try it while watching the condition of the leather. Please note that if you use the cream frequently or apply too much, the leather will become too soft.
- Regarding care for exotic leather such as lizard, you cannot use Munekawa's original care cream. Please use the dedicated cream available on the market.
- How to care for Alaska Just like bridle leather, Alaska is a leather that has been applied with wax, so basically, just wiping it dry with a soft cloth is sufficient. As you use it, the texture will change due to the oils and grease from your hands and friction. Munekawa's care cream contains a lot of water, so if you apply it to light-colored leather such as "natural", it may stain. When using it, apply it as thinly as possible and spread it quickly over the entire surface. This is true for all leathers, but if you rub it too hard, the color of that part will tend to become darker. Alaska is a leather that is particularly prone to aging due to friction, so when wiping, wipe gently over the entire surface.
- Regarding the care of other leathers, some leathers may not be suitable for use. If you would like to use it on leathers selected at the order meeting, please contact us. If you would like to use it on interiors or leather products other than Munekawa products, we will not be able to answer any inquiries. Although it is a versatile delicate cream, please be sure to test it on an area that is hard to see, and use it on the whole body after observing the condition for a while.
