A new item has been added to Munekawa's leather wallets: the new bi-fold wallet "Reveal".

Its greatest feature is the windowed ID card holder, which allows you to display your ID without taking it out.
This new type of wallet solves the small everyday stress of having to take out cards that are frequently shown, such as employee IDs and driver's licenses, and makes your movements smoother.
While providing ample storage, we have minimized stitching and the number of parts to achieve a slim profile that fits neatly into your pocket.
Today's blog introduces the new bi-fold wallet "Reveal".
Born from a single comment at a pop-up store
It was during a pop-up event at Daimaru Tokyo at the end of last year. While chatting with a sales associate on the same floor, I happened to hear a comment:
"It's surprisingly hard to find a bi-fold wallet with a clear window for an ID card when you look for one."

ID card holders themselves have become common, but if it's integrated with a wallet and also has good storage capacity as a wallet, it might not be that common, now that I think about it.
"With the spread of cashless payments, a wallet like that would indeed be convenient."
The idea for a simple bi-fold wallet with an ID card holder, characteristic of Munekawa, was born from such a casual conversation.
The name "Reveal" (to make known, to show) embodies our desire for users to smartly display their ID without having to take it out.
Capacity and size

- Cards: Approx. 7
- Bills: Max approx. 25
- Height 97mm × Width 93mm × Thickness 9mm (Width when open 177mm)
- Weight: Approx. 48g
- Configuration: Bill compartment ×1 / Card pockets ×7 / ID window pocket ×1
Even when fully loaded (7 cards and 25 bills), the thickness is approximately 21mm. It's designed to hold just the right amount of cash, cards, and ID for a cashless-centric daily life.
Subtraction design pursuing ultimate thinness
Even when fully packed, it slides neatly into an inner jacket pocket or pant pocket. To achieve such usability, the Reveal was designed with a relentless focus on leather thickness.

The internal parts are thinned down to 0.3-0.4mm, and the edges where leather overlaps undergo a "skiving" process, reducing them to a mere 0.15-0.2mm thick.
Leather thinned to this extent is extremely delicate, but after repeated fine-tuning and numerous prototypes, we finally achieved a balance that is "thin yet durable." This subtractive design, which reduces stitching and the number of parts, brings out the inherent suppleness of the leather and its everyday usability.
Recommended for people who...
This particular wallet is especially recommended for those who carry a separate coin purse and frequently present cards.
- Routinely present employee IDs or driver's licenses.
- Want to keep their wallet slim in jacket or pants pockets without disrupting the silhouette.
- Want to pass through ticket gates or make purchases smoothly with their public transport IC card still inside.
- Primarily use cashless payments and keep cash to a minimum.

While the window is designed for ID cards, its uses are not limited to that. Besides identification, you could also store transit cards for travel, family photos, tickets, and more. You can enjoy its versatile use to match your lifestyle and hobbies.
Summary
This time, we introduced the new bi-fold wallet "Reveal".

Designed to offer both the reassurance of ample card and bill storage and the lightness of being able to go out hands-free. Its minimalist form, stripped of metal fittings and embellishments, will grow with you as the leather molds to your use, becoming uniquely yours.
