The idea for making Brass began when some of the staff at Munekawa were talking about the kind of belt they wanted.

This 30mm wide belt is easy to wear every day, has a simple design and a brass buckle.

We had talked about how we would like to have something like that, but we couldn't find anything in the style we wanted, and even when we did find something, it was always made overseas and was expensive and difficult to buy.

It naturally conforms to your body without losing its flexibility or strength, allowing you to use it for a long time as a "belt that fits your body perfectly."

So we thought, " If it doesn't exist, then let's make such a belt ourselves ," and that's how we started making "Brass."

Brass is the very embodiment of what we consider to be "cool." With its simple design and robust construction, it is a watch that allows you to enjoy the texture of the material for a long time.

For this renewal, we have created "Brass" using two different types of leather.

1. Bridle leather: the epitome of British elegance

One is bridle leather made by Thomas Ware & Sons , a long-established British tannery.

Originally developed for use in horse tack, its most notable features are its durability and the white waxy substance known as "bloom" that appears on the surface. Whenever we cut and tailor this leather in our workshop, we are reminded of its high density and strength, making us realize that it is truly excellent leather.

It may feel a little stiff at first, but it will gradually loosen up and conform to the shape of the wearer's waist. The process is truly described as "nurturing leather." The deep luster that appears as the bloom fades exudes a sophisticated elegance.

2. "Maremma": the secret of Italian warmth

The other is "Maremma," a representative Italian oil leather.

This leather is supple and you can feel its warmth from the moment you touch it. It contains plenty of oil, and one of the characteristics of Maremma is that it ages beautifully.

The more you use it, the more the oil will soak into it, and it will soften and conform to your body. You will never get bored of watching it develop a beautiful luster and deepen in color. This is the perfect leather for a belt that you will wear every day.

We pay particular attention to the details and invisible parts
