There is a production workshop below the Munekawa store.
If you have visited our directly managed store, you may have seen a glimpse of it from the outside.
Even at this time when the city is a little hectic, the production staff continues to produce products in the workshop.
This time, we will introduce a little bit of the production process of the business card holder "Through" .

Business card through
Through is a business card holder that has a simple design but is made with consideration for storage capacity and "ease of exchanging business cards."
The lid has a pocket for storing replacement business cards, making it easier to exchange business cards.

It can store up to 50 business cards, making it a popular gift for people who frequently exchange business cards, as well as for new employees.
This product is popular throughout the year, but as we approach spring, more and more people are purchasing it.

Skiving the leather
First, there is the "suki" process.
This is the process of adjusting the thickness of the leather. The leather is passed through a special machine and shaved down to the required thickness. Because Through is a business card holder with a simple structure, the thickness of the leather has a big impact on the finished product.

If it's too thick it looks unfashionable, and if it's too thin it gives an unreliable impression, so we adjust the thickness of each piece of leather while checking its condition.

Cut the leather
The next step is to cut the leather into the shape of the product.
The mold is applied and each piece is cut out. There are thin scraps of leather scattered on the table, which are the ends that have been cut off.
With a product with a simple design like Through, even the slightest deviation can affect the finished product, so it is a task that requires concentration.

Leather after cutting
Once the leather has been cut, it is then lined up in baskets.
Blue, black, green, camel. The leather parts shown in the photo are the ones that will become the business card holders. Even though they are the same color, each one has a slightly different look, so when you line them up like this, you can see their individuality.

The same effort, one by one
Through is a simple business card holder.
That's why we take great care and effort in each and every step of the manufacturing process.

Minor imperfections may occur during the manufacturing process.
Even if there is no problem with the functionality of the product, these are excluded from the products to be sold as they cannot be sold normally.
However, it remains a product that has been made through the same process and with the same effort.

We plan to offer these items in our stock sale starting on December 27th. If you're interested, be sure to check it out.
