Scratching the leather is an advantage

Until recently, we also considered the fact that leather gets scratched to be a disadvantage. (To be honest.)

However, when I thought carefully about leather and what is wrong with scratching it, my negative thoughts started to turn into positive ones.

What practical drawbacks does scratching leather have?

There's nothing wrong with scratching the leather. It's normal for it to get scratched.

The problem is with the appearance.

Of course, appearance and parts are important. You could even say that they are the most important thing.

For this reason, the materials used in high-end brand wallets and bags often include embossed leather that is resistant to scratches.

However, being less susceptible to scratches means that it will not change.

The fact that it does not change means that it is in the best condition and looks best when you first start using it. After a few years of use, it will start to show signs of wear, such as dirt and deterioration.

In this respect, the type of leather we use, tanned leather (vegetable tanned leather), is a material that is easily scratched.

However, with repeated use and proper care, the leather's appearance will change and take on a unique, optimal look that suits the user.

Materials that are easily scratched, such as vegetable tanned leather, will look their worst when you first start using them, but with continued use their appearance will change and they will reach their best condition over the course of several years.

Considering this, I've come to think that getting scratches on leather is not a disadvantage but rather an advantage.

It's not at its best when you first start using it, but it will improve as you use it.

At Munekawa, we believe this is one of the meanings of leather.

We have posted many images of the products that our users use on User's Snap , so please take a look.

We would like as many people as possible to experience the transparent luster of vegetable tanning.
